The (donut) snack masters have spoken and National Doughnut Day was elected to fall upon the first Friday of June each year. Although the exact start date of such a festive occasion is not 100% clear (to me at least), apparently National Doughnut Day has been around since the late 1930’s, in association with the great depression as well the honoring of the (brave) volunteers who served donuts to the soldiers of World War 1. So, go ahead, make like Homer Simpson and Snack You Some doughnuts!
*BIG snacks to @PaigeCraig for the timely 411 tip via Twitter regarding such a memorable, snack-tacious event!

OMG, now I have to have a donut. That looks SOOO good.
Okay, we missed the official day but nothing says we can’t have a belated celebration! I’m going to buy a donut (yeast, chocolate covered) for tomorrow in honor of NDD!
Nice, Snack You Some, Tangled Noodle!
