It is the first of the month of July and thank the lucky snack stars that back in 1984, President Ronald Reagan claimed July as National Ice Cream Month and positioned the third Sunday of July as National Ice Cream Day (via IDFA story). And, if that ain’t some good-grub news (especially for the dairy snack folks), I don’t know what good-grub news is. Furthermore, I’m thinking I might as well go on and have me some (plenty of) ice cream this month. Snack. I’m even going to try and craft up some home-made batches myself. IN FACT, with the help of Savor The Thyme and Tangled Noodle (who you may recall were both behind the Eating Your Words Challenge where I submitted my Mardi Gras Flavored Beignets to), there will be an Ice Cream Social carried out for the entire month of July whereby anyone and everyone can participate by simply submitting photos of ice cream, URL’s for your videos of ice cream and/or URL’s of your home-made ice cream recipe posts to icecream-at-scottysnacks.com.
Basic Rules Of Engagement Participation:
1) Post your home-made ice cream recipe including links back to Scotty Snacks, SavortheThyme and Tangled Noodle. Then, send an email to IceCream-at-ScottySnacks.com with the URL and photo from your post along with a name and email so that we may contact you should you WIN! And, we gladly accept any recipes that were published before the start date of our challenge so feel free to brush through the archives for this one!
2) Not making home-made ice cream? Or, no blog? ¡No problemo mi amigo! Simply send us a photo, video or vlog of your entry (to IceCream-at-ScottySnacks.com) telling us what, where and when it was taken. Provide a URL, if applicable (a still shot or capture would be great, too) along with an email and your name so that we may contact you should you WIN.
3) Enter as many times as you wish. Each entry will be counted for and will increase your chances of WINning!
*Deadline is Friday July 31, 2009!
That’s right, anything and everything containing ice cream and the enjoyment there of will be counted as a submission and, at the end of the month, a handful of winners will be selected for some super special sur-prizes (i.e. prizes that are intended to be surprises
). Each person will be individually recognized, supported and mentioned for their participation in follow up articles at Savor The Thyme, Tangled Noodle and Scotty Snacks. Submit as much as you want, as often as you want for the whole month, each submission increases your chances of being selected for a sur-prize! Lastly, if you use Twitter, please do utilize the hashtag, #icsocial so that we can better track involvement (and feel free to follow @savorthethyme, @tanglednoodle and @scottysnacks
). So, get to ice cream snacking, we’ve got an entire month of delicious dairy treats to consume.

So excited!! Thanks for coming up with the idea King of all Snacking!
LOL, King of all Snacking!!!
Thank you (and Tracey) first for if it wasn’t for the Eating Your Words Challenge that you ladies did, I never would have seen the potential for holding such a fun social gathering with ice cream. Snack On (Some Ice Cream), Jennifer, looking forward to seeing where this fun goes for the month!
Scott(y) aka King of all Snacking
I’ll say it again… So excited to participate. So many flavors to choose from to make!
Awesome !!!
Make as many ice cream flavors as you like and eat (and enjoy!) as much ice cream as you like – we’ve got the whole month!! Remember, any and all submissions count!
Thanks Samantha!
It’s still July 1st (30 minutes left to go) and I finally finished my post! Let’s get our scoop on!!
Noodles!
Great, I know you got the good scoop going, that’s for sure. Heading over to see what you made-up for this particular round of Ice Cream Social !!
I just sent my ice cream to you.
Got it! Thanks so much, Soma, your Coconut, Cherry & Almond Vegan Ice Cream looks fantastic!!
I apologize for being a total doofus, but I don’t see a valid email address for this challenge. Other people have been successful at submitting recipes, so I must be doing something wrong.
BTW, to say “no problem” in Spanish, it should be “no hay problema”. “Problemo” is not a word, at least in Spanish it isn’t.
Thanks!
Memoria,
Muchas gracias para commentario ;P
All good, yo, we got you counted in for the Ice Cream Social.
