With daylight saving officially on the clock and the urge to spring forward thwarted by the sleep still in our eyes from last night’s slumber, perhaps a tea toast to some of the finest wake-up type tea I’ve ever brewed would be timely. To keep it stealthy strong but still sweetly tasty, I combined a full teaspoon of the rich, black, Golden Monkey Tea (which previously was used for my Orangeious George Tea Snack) with a half a teaspoon of the raspberry chocolate flavored Utopian Jewel Oolong Tea (which you may recall being used for my Spiced Mandarin Gr-oolong Tea Snack) and about a quarter of a teaspoon’s taste of some strawberry scented aged black pu-erh tea, and, honestly, I truly think I may have re-coined the phrase regarding the best part of waking up. Now, now, sure, I could have gone easy on the black tea and harder on the fruity oolong tea but, quite frankly, it’s daylight savings and, you don’t send a crumb to do a snack’s job! Cheers all!

The Teas

Since I’ve already covered the Golden Monkey Tea and the Utopian Jewel Oolong Tea, I’ll simplyblock quote those descriptions for you and whip out a fresh one for the..

Strawberry Slender Pu-Erh Tea is certainly not one to be slender in taste, if you know what I mean. This aged black pu-erh tea has a lovely strawberry scent (and taste) and is claimed to assist in lowering cholesterol while also being good for the heart and, furthermore, is coined a diet tea because it aides in the digestion of fat and saturated oils. Learn More

Golden Monkey Black Tea is a rich flavored China black tea, fresh from the Fujian province, exhibiting a smooth taste with with complex chocolaty undertones. Although this tea is extremely low in tannins, it still packs a rich flavor for your enjoyment. Like all black teas, this Golden Monkey Black Tea is known for helping to lower cholesterol while also being good for the heart as well as for promoting healthy teeth, skin and bones. Learn More

Utopian Jewel Oolong Tea has a raspberry chocolate like odor/taste but yet still acts like the oolong tea that it is and claims to help burn body fat while also increasing metabolism, aiding in digestion and supporting teeth and skin. Learn More

Ingredients Used

2/3 cup and 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 cup clarified butter
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 egg
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sliced Up Strawberries
Purple And Red Skittles
Blueberries

Stirring, Shaping And Baking

After you got the ingredients (minus the Skittles, strawberry slices and blueberries) all stirred and mixed up, you then want to hand-form the cookies into your preferred sizes/shapes. Next, it is time to treat each individual cookie with a little strawberry, blueberry and Skittles loving. To do so, I (highly) recommend slicing a thin layer off of the top of each cookie then add preferred amount of strawberry slices, blueberries and Skittles (for these, I added enough strawberry pieces to cover the middle then added 4 Skittles, one on each corner, and then 2 blueberries as well). Then, place the thin layered tops back on and gently press down so as to seal the lid. Now that you’ve got your cookies stuffed with strawberry, blueberry and Skittles love, toss them on a (clarified butter greased) baking sheet and set in oven for approximately 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees (once you see the cookie edges slightly browning, it is time to take them out, sprinkle some white sugar atop and let them cool down prior to snacking them down).

This healthy snack was super easy and super fun to create and, since I already had some strawberries (leftover from the ones I used for the Strawberry Sugar Cookie Cake Recipe), I went to the grocery store thinking 1/2 Lb of shrimp and 1 bag or organic lettuce then figured I might as well add some flavor with a homemade dressing so I scooped some fat free, organic yogurt along with a lime and a bundle of cilantro (and used last 3 said ingredients along with some strawberries to create my Strawberry Cilantro Dip & Dressing Sauce). After cleaning (i.e. watering off) then searing the shrimp in a skillet with some clarified butter, I spooned them on top of the pre-cleaned lettuce, tossed in the strawberries that I sliced then drizzled some of my home-made dressing all about it.

*Also to mention: As you can see from image, I had some chopped cojita cheese lying around in the fridge so, I made like Rich Boy from Mobile, Alabama and threw some <del datetime="2009-02-26T07:09:54+00:00">D’s</del> cheese on that.. salad

So as not to turn this quick and easy dip and dressing sauce recipe into a long winded night time story, let me just fast forward to the details so you can (also) begin to enjoy this here home-made, extremely cost efficient and specifically versatile sauce.

Ingredients

8-10 Strawberries (with green heads/leaves chopped off)
1/2 Cup Organic, Fat Free Yogurt
3 Branches of Cilantro (stem and all in tact)
1 (Gentle) Squeeze of a Lime

Now What

Toss 3 ingredients into blender (or food mixer, etc.. but I used my blender), swiftly squeeze a dash of lime on top and blend/liquefy this sauce down. Wa-la! Let the dipping and the dressing proceed.

One Last Thing To Plug..
