Mushroom Sticky Rice

Organic Long Grain Brown Rice with Organic Portobello Mushrooms and Okra


The Basics

  • Servings 2-3


7-8 organic portobello mushrooms (sliced)
7-8 pieces of okra (sliced)
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon turmeric
1/2 tablespoon cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup organic long grain rice (cooked)
1/8 teaspoon sea salt


  1. Add coconut oil, portobello mushrooms, okra, turmeric, black pepper, cumin, cayenne pepper and olive oil to pot and set to medium-low
  2. Cook all ingredients down on medium-low (stirring regularly) for about 5-7 minutes then set heat to low-simmer and close the lid for 3-5 minutes
  3. Open lid, stir ingredients around evenly and check piece of okra and mushroom for readiness (if needs more cooking, close pot again for another few minutes)
  4. Once ready, add rice, stir around evenly and turn the heat off
  5. Sprinkle sea salt to taste and serve warm
